Welcome to the Kingdom of Swaziland!

Rich, vibrant and picturesque, the Kingdom of Swaziland, is a most diverse tourism destination. Swaziland has magnificent mountain scenery and is made up of 4 diverse areas: mountainous Highveld to the west has rivers, waterfalls and gorges. The adjacent middleveld has lush fertile valleys and it is here that much of the country’s agriculture occurs. Further east is the sub-tropical Lowveld where sugar and citrus export crops are cultivated. The smallest area is Lubombo which borders with Mozambique and is typified by mountainous scenery.

There are 4 administrative regions : Manzini, Hhohho, Shiselweni and Lubombo. The capital is Mbabane and the currency is Lilangeni(SZL) which is on par with the South African Rand. Both currencies may be used.

Siswati and English are the official languages.

Swaziland comprises some 17 000 square km and is about the same size as Wales in the UK and the smallest country in the southern hemisphere.
The lush Ezulweni Valley is home to a number of hotels, the famous casino and golf course, the National stadium at Lobamba, the National Museum and King Sobuza II memorial park, handcraft centres and the Swazi Cultural Village in Matenga Nature Reserve.

Exclusive handcrafts, creative baskets, wood & stone carvings, glassware & exquisite candles, batik items & jewellery are popular tourist attractions.

Swaziland has preserved her culture and traditions. The centuries old ceremonies are as valid today as they were in the days of Ngwane, the 1st king and this balance of ancient and modern, traditional and western gives this land and her people distinctive character.
